In a world where almost everyone wants to be a DJ, it's inspiring to meet young artists like Danny Nagels (born Dan Shafro) who demonstrate an unrivaled passion for house music and will ensure its survival in the years to come. Despite his young age, Danny exhibits a technical prowess and dedication that is on par with the most seasoned and experienced producers today.
This Toronto native began his musical career by studying classical piano as a child for many years, providing him the solid musical foundation he would need to create beautiful melodies and harmonies in the years to come. As a teenager, Danny played drums for many, many years, and it was during this time that he began to build a powerful sense of rhythm. His extensive experience as a drummer would pay off enormously when he began producing, fully able to create complex beats and patterns in seconds.
While he always shared a love for electronic music throughout his younger years, Danny's musical transformation was complete when at the age of 18 he went to Canada's renoun party, Labour of Love, at The Guvernment. Now completely hooked on house music, Danny began DJing day and night for months. Within only a couple of months, he was already playing out at various nightclubs to great reviews. With only two years of DJing under his belt, Danny has already played out Toronto's top clubs, including The Docks and The Guvernment, the world's 8 nightclub. He has also performed alongside numerous international heavyweights such as The Global Deejays, DJ Yahel, Jaimie Fanatic, MC Flipside, and many more. His unbelievable live energy, flawless mixing, and on-stage charisma have made him a beloved DJ of local and international crowds alike.
However, Danny's real claim to fame lies in his abilities as a producer. With production partner Joey Seminara, the duo have release a stream of hits over the past year that they have been working together. Their smash hit 'Just The Tip', including a remix by house music heavyweight Hatiras, topped the Beatport electro charts and received outstanding support by Deep Dish, Tocadisco, Tommy Lee & DJ Aero, Erick Morillo, Bad Boy Bill, and many, many more! Barely a few months later, the duo are making waves with their remix off MC Flipside's 'The Rubdown', a bouncy techno bodymover, which topped Beatport's techno chart after only 3 days!
It goes without saying that Danny Nagels is a rising star in house music and his unyielding drive will catapault him to international stardom in the years to come as his beats continue to rock dancefloors across the world!
