Chris’ infatuation with electronic music grew out of the new wave, electro sounds of the 80’s. While in high school, Chris was an eager admirer of early house music as well as the conscious sounds of early 90’s hip hop. The electronic sounds of Chicago and New York combined with the tough hitting beats from the Big Apple and Los Angeles, instantaneously had Chris hooked. Toronto’s contribution to Chris’ desire to learn how to mix was fueled by late nights dancing and listening to Don Berns (Dr. Trance), Chris Sheppard and Deadly Headly.

Chris Vench has performed at various venues in Toronto including Footwork, 99 Sudbury, Tonic Nightclub and Mad Bar to name a few. In his travels Chris has performed in Peterborough, U.K., Rochester, NY and Quebec City. While in England, he deejayed on “Moving House with Brian Cheetham” on Ministry of Sound Radio. Including club dates, Chris has also hosted live-to-airs with some of the world’s leading electronic deejays.

The eventuality to step into the studio came after meeting and befriending Toronto producer and dj Paranoid Jack. This encounter led to Chris working on a remix with Paranoid Jack for Calgary’s Domenic G entitled “High Steppin”, which was released on BugEyed Records. Around the same time, Chris released an EP on the Stickman Records imprint called “Modus Operandi/Open Your Ears” and following this release, Chris Vench was featured on a couple of white label records. His most recent release is a remix on WiFi Recordings of a four01 Recordings release entitled “Music” by Zeroid.

Most recently Chris has teamed up with Toronto dj Mat Lunnen to form ‘Batteries Not Included’ production and dj team. Chris Vench is also the co-Director of a new digital label named “PBR Recordings”, where his remix of M1’s “Freak the Frequency” will be featured on the second release.
